Being a child of the 90s, I dabbled in a lot of 80s movies, music and television shows. And like a lot of kids my age, I was hugely into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I had an obsession with it, from the Saturday morning cartoon to the three live action movies, I couldn’t get enough of Splinter and his martial arts trained Turtles.
For ages now, fans have been aware of the details of a new turtle’s film well on the way, but what we should have been focusing on is the detail that wasn’t being said about the film. And in the beginning many had hoped it would be a continuation to the 2007 CGI film TMNT. But sadly as it turns out, it won’t be. StuffWeLike.com reported the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is being produced by Michael Bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes, and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans)
Bay had this to say at the 2012 Nickelodeon Upfront on March 14, 2012. “When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we’re done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they’re going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.”
The following video is of Bay at the Nickelodeon Upfront talking about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
It’s been one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood that 20 century Fox’s ‘Prometheus’ is a prequel to the Alien franchise So-to speak, and even the man himself, Ridley Scott, tried (for a short while) to debunk any rumors that his feature film Prometheus was in fact a prequel, then only to later abandon such notion and claimed it was a prequel per say, but not the typical sense we’ve come accustomed to. Well the cat’s out of the bag now as the first viral ad campaign for the film featuring Guy Pearce as corporate industrialist Peter Weyland of Weyland Industries was launched! The TED 2023 video “I will change the world” has since then gone viral and is sparking major buzz among the Sci-Fi and fanboy community. Scroll down and see for yourself what has everyone talking:
From Weyland Industries Official Website: “Considered a seminal moment in the career of our founder Peter Weyland, this 2023 TED Talk launched Weyland Corp into the international spotlight. To honor this historic event, Weyland Corp is planning to offer a new round of investment soon. Interested parties can expect to find out more within the next few days.”
From TED 2023: “Peter Weyland has been a magnet for controversy since he announced his intent to build the first convincingly humanoid robotic system by the end of the decade.
Whether challenging the ethical boundaries of medicine with nanotechnology or going toe to toe with the Vatican itself on the issue of gene-therapy sterilization, Sir Peter prides himself on his motto, “If we can, we must.” After a three year media blackout, Weyland has finally emerged to reveal where he’s heading next. Wherever that may be, we will most certainly want to follow.”
Synopsis:A team of scientists journey through the universe on the spaceship “Prometheus” on a voyage to investigate Alien life forms. The team of scientists becomes stranded on an Alien world, and as they struggle to survive it becomes clear that the horrors they experience are not just a threat to themselves, but to all of mankind.
This will be director Ridley Scott’s return to the Sci-Fi genre since directing timeless classic ‘Blade Runner’ 30 years ago. Prometheus is starring: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Guy Pearce. And will be released in theaters everywhere Jun 8th.
Extra Tidbit: So after 30 long years away from the genre, do you think Ridley can still pull off a decent Sci Fi flick?
We’re practically sitting on the eve of Super Bowl XLVI, and you know what that means! Yes, the best damn product ads money can buy airing throughout your homes and sports bars across the nation! Of course there’s this weird thing called “Football” that airs between the commercials (I haven’t a clue why but it does) but I’m sure someone out there gets it.
Among those ads are a slew of movie trailers, one in particular is the new Super Bowl ad for ‘G.I. Joe Retaliation’. While the first G.I. Joe film was poorly received by both fans and critics, it’s sequel is looking to redeem itself from past failures with Retaliation. And now this new 33 second ad proves to mousen our plate even futher which a clear shot of our favorite Cobra head honcho Cobra Commander!
G.I. Joe Retaliation is starring: Dwayne Johnson. Adrianne Palicki. Ray Stevenson. Bruce Willis. Byung-hun Lee. Jonathan Pryce. RZA. D.J. Cotrona. Channing Tatum. And Faran Tahir as Cobra Commander (unconfirmed) Watch the Joe’s get retaliation in theaters everywhere 29 June 2012.
Extra Tidbit: was no fan of the first G.I. Joe film and questioned the sanity of the studio when they decided to make a sequel. But after seeing the trailers in action, I must say that its starting to come together rather nicely.
